Mission Statement

The mission of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School JROTC program is to
motivate young people to be better citizens. This is accomplished by teaching Cadets the value
of citizenship, leadership, service to the community, personal responsibility, and a sense of
accomplishment while instilling in them self-esteem, teamwork, self-direction, and self-
discipline. The focus is to provide an inclusionary environment demonstrating the acceptance of
all students.

Our goal is to prepare
Cadets for responsible leadership roles while making them aware of their rights, and
responsibilities as American citizens. The program seeks to serve as a stimulus for promoting
graduation from high school, continuation in Post-Secondary Education or College ROTC while
providing instruction and rewarding opportunities that will benefit the student, school,
community, and nation.
